I've noticed that many of my dancers have musicians to thank for supplying their videos. And let's face it, we wouldn't be able to do much dancing if it wasn't for the music!

While I'm on the subject of music, you may be interested in visiting Shawshara.com, which has translations of Arabic songs - it's always useful to know what the song you're dancing to is about!

Do, please, do your research before buying a belly dance instructional DVD! There are some excellent ones out there, but there's also a lot of rubbish. Be wary of aerobics instructors trying to cash in - they have no clue about technique! And bear in mind that some belly dance DVD's have been produced as eye candy for men, not for serious study (words like "sensual" are a good indicator!).

If you're a complete beginner looking for something simple and fun, I recommend the series by Veena and Neena. For more serious study, Jillina has a good range. Personally, I'm looking forward to Jrisi's DVD which I'm sure will have some great technique tips.
